Going from not enough to more than enough.
Have you ever felt like no matter how hard you try, you just can't seem to get ahead? You stumble, you make mistakes, and that little annoying voice in your head whispers, "See, you're not good enough." Of course you have because it's the number one most common limiting belief IN THE WORLD. Doesn't matter who you are - you could be a A list movie star, or a millionaire. New level, new devil and our inner critic, coupled with negative beliefs, can be a major roadblock to our happiness and success if we don't know how to turn down the volume.
Not only is this backed up by science, but what I am about to share I’ve done myself.
Our thoughts directly influence our feelings, and our feelings dictate what actions we take as a result. So if you’re constantly telling yourself you're not enough, that you can’t do it, you'll likely not even try to put yourself out there and you'll act in ways that sabotage your goals.
Here's how your thoughts become your reality:
The Science of Epigenetics: When I understood this, (I still don't understand why we weren’t taught this stuff in school ) everything changed. Every thought you have triggers the release of neurotransmitters, which are chemical messengers that control everything from your hormones to your mood. Positive thoughts like feeling that we are "worthy" or "enough" can boost our energy levels and motivation, while negative ones can create feelings of stress and anxiety.
Dr. Bruce Lipton, who is the leading cell biologist has proven extensively that our thoughts, attitudes, and perceptions play a significant role in determining which genes are turned on or off. This is because our thoughts and emotions produce chemical signals that can affect the activity of our genes. For example, chronic stress has been shown to trigger epigenetic changes that can lead to the development of a range of health problems. Furthermore, it has been proven that our thoughts and emotions can directly affect the vibrational frequency of our cells. This is because every thought and emotion produces a measurable energy field. When we have negative thoughts or emotions, our cells vibrate at a lower frequency, which has a negative impact on our health. So disease really manifests in the body first. Dis-ease = disease. That was my wake up call. All the worrying about what someone thought about me, or if he would call ... nope! not worth it because truly we don't know why people to or say what they do and most of the time it has nothing to do with us, but the thoughts about it do.
Beliefs Shape Your Perception: Our minds interpret the world through the lens of our beliefs. If you believe you're a failure, every setback will confirm that story. Basically your ego’s only job is to be right, so it will go out and look for evidence to confirm your beliefs. BUUUTTT if you choose to believe in your potential, challenges become opportunities to learn and grow. You create what’s called new neural pathways in the brain, which in essence is just a new road for your thoughts to travel down. The more of a thought you think, the more worn the path.
Challenge Your Limiting Beliefs: The first step to changing your mindset is to identify and challenge your limiting beliefs.
Here are two powerful tools that I use all the time on myself, and with my private clients:
- "Is it True?": When a negative thought pops into your head, don't accept it as fact. Ask yourself, "Is this thought even true?" Just because someone told you something or you've had past failures doesn't mean you're destined for defeat.
- Reframe Your Language: Our words have a powerful impact on our subconscious mind. Instead of dwelling on mistakes, replace negative thoughts with affirmations like "I am capable" or "I am learning and growing."
Taking Action: Changing your thought patterns takes practice and dedication. Here are some tips to get you started:
- Daily Gratitude List: Take a few minutes each day to write down things you're grateful for. This simple practice shifts your focus to the positive aspects of your life. Now, don't just write down silly stuff, the key to gratitude is really vibrationally feeling what you’re deeply grateful for. It’s appreciating what you ALREADY have. If you can’t truly appreciate what you have now, the universe won’t bring you more. This isn’t woo-woo - this is science because everything is vibrational in nature and gratitude is one of the highest vibrations. So you want to get into the vibration and feel what you’re so deeply grateful for. Often time we are only grateful for what we had once we lost it.
- Mindfulness Meditation: Meditation helps you become more aware of your thoughts and feelings without judgment. By observing your thoughts, you can learn to detach from negativity. See the thoughts - know you aren’t your thoughts. They are just like passing clouds. All too often we think we are our thoughts, you are just the thinker of them. So that means you can’t be the observer and the observed. If you really want to go down the rabbit hole google “the double slit experiment” quantum physics explains this process and is rather mind blowing to say the least.
- Positive Affirmations: Repeat positive affirmations like "I am worthy" or "I am abundant" "I am loved" throughout the day. Put them on sticky notes, or consider getting a Worthy Wand - we engrave all our pieces with high vibrational words. Just by wearing the pieces, you are feeding your cells pure positivity.
Remember, you are not your thoughts. Choose better ones and really commit to the process. Try it for a week and watch how different you experience with yourself and others is.
Sending so much love,
